There are some provisions for the inspection of missing angles and edges of the refractory products as followings:

1) The depth is measured with a specially manufactured goniometer and edge measuring device which can be tightly fitted over the corners and edges and have a scale which can slide along the predetermined direction.

2) For products with right angles, the depth of the missing angle is measured with a cube-shaped goniometer along the center diagonal direction of the cube. For non-right-angle products, the depth is measured with a prism goniometer along the direction of the center line of the prism.

3) The depth of the missing edge is examined by measuring the biggest depth along the bisector direction of the included angle between the product surfaces. If there is a restriction for the length, measure the entire length of the missing edge.

4) When the missing angle and the missing edge are jointed together, measure them separately. The missing edge in the missing angle is not measured as a missing edge. The missing angle is measured as a missing angle and the missing edge is measured as a missing edge.

5) Except special conditions, any missing angle or missing edge with a depth between 3mm and allowed standard value should be examined. Any missing angle or missing edge with a depth of 3mm or less than 3mm is not calculated as missing angle or missing edge.
