Refractory materials are the key to the construction of furnace refractory line. The materials should meet the requirements and be transported and stored properly before use.

Basic requirements for materials
1)All the materials must comply with the design drawings and the specifications. 
2)The name and label must be clear. The packaging must be standardized. All materials packaging should be rainproof. Stereotypes refractories should have fixed packaging. The weight of bulk refractory should not exceed 25kg per bag. 
3)All the materials should have the certificate of quality. The bulk materials should have instructions to explain the use method and expiration date. 
 
Acceptance, storage and transport
1)Check the certificate of quality, instruction, label, packaging, weight and whether the materials are damaged or damped during the transport. If there is any problem, contact the manufacturers and purchasing department. 
2)Cont the number of the stereotypes refractories and weigh the bulk refractories. Conditions not permitting, weigh the single bag and the count the number of bags. 
3)After the materials enter the factory, contact the company to determine whether a second examination is required. 
4)The materials should be loaded and unloaded gently. If unloading the stereotypes refractories with cranes, identify the lifting point. Avoid direct lifting with wire rope. If lifting is necessary, use bag rope. Bulk refractories should be stacked. 
5)The means of transport should have smooth surface to avoid scratching the bags in the secondary transport.
6)Refractories should be placed in the warehouse in the order of trademark, grade, brick number and masonry order and marked. 
7)Prevent the refractories from damping during transportation and storage. Refractory mortar, powder, aggregates, binders, ramming mass, plastic materials, spray coating, refractory castable and ceramic fiber should be separately stored in moisture-proof and clean warehouses. 
 
Refractory mortar
1)The refractoriness and chemical composition of refractory mortar should be appropriate to those of the corresponding refractories. The type, grade and other properties of mortar should be determined according to the temperature and operating conditions of furnaces. 
2)Before masonry, determine the consistency and the amount of water to add by experiments. Also check whether the masonry performance of the mortar (mainly the bonding time) can meet the masonry requirements. Depending on the size of the refractories, the bonding time is preferably 1-1.5min. 
3)The consistency of the mortar should be appropriate to the thickness of brick joints. 
4)The maximum particle size of the mortar should not exceed 30 percent of the thickness of brick joints.
5)Weigh accurately and mix evenly when preparing mortars. When preparing mortars with additives, the chlorine ion (Cl -1) content of the water should not exceed 300mg / L. 
6)Do not use the same mixer and slurry tank for different mortars. When switching to another mortar, clean all the equipment. 
7)Mortars with cement, water glass or brine should not be prematurely prepared before masonry. The mortar that has begun to solidify should not be used.
