Generally, refractory bricks is subjected to the following damages in the kiln.

(1) Chemical corrosion

In normal firing, the forming temperature of clinkers is above 1450 ℃ and about 25% hihg alkali liquid will be generated. The liquid adheres to the bricks and reaacts with the bricks, which will corrode the bricks.

(2) High temperature corrosion

When the firing temperature is too high, the bricks will be softened, the strength be reduced and their volume becomes unstable. The bricks are gradually corroded.

(3) Thermal shock

Due to various reasons, the change of temperature often exists in the kiln. The temperature flunctuation refractory bricks suffer is more frequent. (4) Mechanical damage

(5) Wear of raw materials

The sliding and rolling of materials cause friction between materials and refractory bricks. the riction, along with the erosion of dust to bricks makes the bricks eroded and become thiner and thinner.
